Wilhelm-Hack-Museum (Ludwigshafen, Allemagne)Mots-clés : Wilhelm-Hack-Museum Sammlung Prinzhorn Zeitraumexit Museum Haus Cajeth Galerie Alte Turnhalle flore plante végétaux forme organique art brut art outsider surréalisme symbolisme Résumé : 4ème de couverture : "Plants, plant-like creatures, and even plants with souls play an important role in Outsider Art, or Art Brut, that often grows out of the experience of extreme mental states. The plant as a metaphor of the psyche, or as a screen onto which the psyche can project itself, is also a well-known trope in art history, especially in Symbolism and Surrealism. How plants are represented in historical and contemporary Outsider Art has been taken up in an inclusive, interdisciplinary project spanning several institutions and comprising exhibitions, installations, performance art, dance, and theater productions. By juxtaposing these with selected canonical works, this book questions the strict dividing line that has as yet separated Outsider Art from mainstream art, and by doing so homes in on the continuum connecting all art, irrespective of the specific preconditions of its production."
